When did you decide to elope?

We decided to elope when we realized how difficult it was to find a date that would work for our entire family.

Where did you consider eloping?

We considered the wine country in California, some other Colorado locations, the Bahamas, a cruise and Jamaica.

When did you connect with Protege?

I called Protégé in June.

Was Protege easy to work with? 

Protégé was very easy to work with.  Stephanie was very helpful and offered many suggestions.  She listened to what we really wanted to make the day special for us.

Was it scary leaving everything up to someone you didn’t know?

It wasn’t scary because Stephanie made me feel very comfortable.  She was very organized and communicated with me very well. 

Did Protege keep in contact with you? 

Yes, she did an excellent job keeping me in the loop and letting me know when she needed some decisions made.  I wasn’t stressed about any detail of the wedding.

Was Protege accommodating? 

Yes, Protégé was very accommodating and offered excellent advice.

Did Protege push a bunch of extra stuff on you? 

No, Protégé listened to what we wanted and offered suggestions.  If we weren’t interested, I never felt uncomfortable with saying no thank you.  That was very important to me because I really hate confrontation and that would have made me very uncomfortable. 

What happened when you arrived the day of your Wedding? 

When we arrived we met with Stephanie and went straight to our couples massage.  She got everything ready while we relaxed.

After that what happened? 

After our massage, Michael went to enjoy the afternoon and then to his separate quarters to change.  I went up into the loft and had my hair and make up done and got dressed.  The next time I would see my wonderful husband was down at the dock waiting for my arrival.  It truly couldn’t have been anymore romantic or wonderful.

Did you like the place you stayed in? Was is quality? 

We loved the place that we stayed.  It was so beautiful and romantic.  The quality was five star to us.  I’ve spent some time in some places that were supposed to be five star, but I thought this place was far superior.  I will definitely go back.

How was your massage? 

Our massage was perfect.  I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Did you like your hairstylist? Was she good? 

My hairstylist was excellent.  I had many compliments from family members that have seen the pictures.  I really appreciated her taking the time to do a practice run with me before the actual wedding day.

How about your flowers? Were they pretty? 

The flowers were gorgeous!  The colors were perfect!  I just wish they could have stayed alive forever.

Can you describe where you actually exchanged vows? 

We exchanged our vows on the dock of a lake on a beautiful fall day in Colorado.  The lake was at the base of our beautiful cabin.  The sky was clear and the temperature was perfect for late September.  We had the lake and the beautiful Colorado Mountains as our back drop. 

Did you write your vows? 

No. Protege's Officiate gave us options and we chose from the ones they provided.

Was your officiate nice? Was she helpful? Was she good? 

She was very nice, helpful and good.  She helped capture the love that we felt for each other.  The most special portion of the ceremony was when she had us tell each other when we fell in love with the other.  It was very moving and special.

How was your wedding cake? Was it pretty? Was it tasty? 

The cake was pretty, perfect sized and very tasty.  I hope it tastes as good on our 1 year anniversary.

Was your champagne good? 

Our ”champagne“ was perfect

Did you enjoy  your Limo / Suburban ride to dinner? 

Our ride to dinner was nice.

How was Dinner? Was it good? Was the service good?  

Dinner was very good.  It was a bit noisy and would have been nicer if it had had a corner that was a bit quieter.

How would you rate your experience? 1-10, 10 Being FABULOUS  

I would rate our experience as a 10+.  It was so special and perfect.  There wasn’t a thing I had to worry about.  It was truly the happiest day of my life!

Did things go as well as you hoped it would?  

Things went even better than I could have ever imagined.

Was your coordinator there? Was she helpful? Was she nice? 

Stephanie was there the entire time.  She was helpful, nice and very thoughtful.  I couldn’t have imagined getting married any other way.

Would you recommend this experience to your best friend or sister? 

I would recommend this experience to my best friend, my sister, anyone who would listen.  So many times getting married is so stressful that the true experience of the ceremony is lost.  This elopement was so personalized that it allowed my husband and I to truly share the experience and show each other how happy we are and how much we love each other.   We were able to focus on each other and didn’t have to worry about any other issues that commonly arise when you are trying to make sure so many other people are happy.  It’s really difficult to put into words how special the entire marriage was.   Everything was so beautiful, intimate and romantic.  I feel very fortunate to have been able to marry my best friend in such a special way.
