HOW TO ELOPE
simple outline/check list to use
Choose a setting you both like
(mountain, beachside, europe etc.)
Research Hotels, Resorts, B&Bs
(choose one in the setting of your choice)
Make your travel arrangements
(flight arrangements, rental car etc.)
Marriage License
(get licensing information for the region you chose and make arrangements to obtain a license upon arrival)
Officiate & Witnesses
(Research and choose an officiate to perform your ceremony and legalize you and hire him/her for the date you have chosen. Be sure to find out if witnesses will be required to legalize the document.)
Ceremony site
(Make arrangements for your ceremony site to be set up for you at the place of your choice or be prepared to set it up yourself and decorate it prior to the time.)
Bridal Flowers
(connect with a reputable local florist in the region of your choice and make arrangements to have the altar arrangements, your bouquet and his boutonniere delivered and set up prior to the time you have chosen to be married.)
Suitable Music
(choose some soft background music to be played as you exchange vows - gentle, soothing harp music is very popular among our brides here and the look of the harp accents your ceremony site very nicely.)
Wedding Cake
(connect with a reputable baker in the region to prepare a small wedding cake for delivery and setup prior to your ceremony, be sure to specify whether or not you would like a 'keepsake ornament' on it to take home with you.)
Champagne / Toast / Flutes
(once you have been pronounced man and wife by your officiate, you will take your first 'married' kiss and step over to your personalized champagne flutes to take a toast - one to the other. You will need to make arrangements in advance to have the flutes personalized and shipped.)
Photographs
(You will need to connect with a local photographer to cover the ceremony, first kiss, the toast and cutting of the cake to put into a wedding album of your choice.
Entertainment
(when you research the setting of your choice pay special attention to the types of area activities available and book 2 or 3 [or more] activities in advance to ensure availablility during your stay.)
